quote by Jimi Hendrix (as i understand it). the irony is that this is located on the interior wall of an abandoned military base that dates back the Spanish-American war. it's intended purpose was to defend the San Francisco bay from attack and invasion. the guns stationed here throughout the years, and there were many, were never fired in anger. after WWII it became less and less important until today only the ghosts remain. i realize that this photo is receiving a lot of faves because of the quote, and that's ok. if you do see more from an artistic stand point, please let me know. *edit note: i have dodged the area that contains the word -jimi. i realized that it was difficult to make out. |
